About the PeterMat Zero
The PeterMat Zero is a one square metre gym mat pressed from recycled Australian car tyre rubber. At 15mm thick and 14kg it stays exactly where you put it during burpees, lunges and swings, takes a set-down 25kg dumbbell without marking the floor underneath, and turns any corner of a garage, spare room or balcony into a training station.
Tyre rubber is roughly ten times as dense as the EVA foam used in cheap gym mats. That density is why the Zero does not compress under a loaded squat, why it cuts the noise that travels through a slab to the neighbours, and why it will still be flat and grippy in ten years. Most of the rubber in every mat was a tyre headed for landfill.
Use it under dumbbells and kettlebells, as a HIIT and bodyweight station, on top of foam tiles where the weights land, or as the floor of a whole small gym by laying several edge to edge.

Free shipping on orders over $75 to Australia and New Zealand, otherwise $9.95 flat. Orders are processed within 1 to 2 business days and metro deliveries take 3 to 5 business days. Regional Australia takes 5 to 10 business days and New Zealand 7 to 14. Details on the shipping page.
Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days for a full refund, with a free return label for Australian orders. Damaged or faulty items are replaced or refunded including return postage. Details on the returns page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is 15mm thick enough for dumbbells and kettlebells?
Yes. 15mm of dense tyre rubber stops a set-down dumbbell where a 20mm foam tile lets it through. Only loaded barbell drops need thicker stall mats.
Does it smell?
New recycled rubber smells like a tyre shop for about a week. Air it outside in shade and the smell goes.
Will it slide on tile or timber?
No. At 14kg with a flat rubber base it stays in place without adhesive, even during burpees.
Can I join several together?
Yes. Lay them edge to edge on a clean floor. Their weight keeps them together; no connectors are needed.
How do I clean it?
Wipe with a damp cloth after sweaty sessions and wash with mild soap and water every month or so. Keep it out of direct sun.
