What dumbbell delivery costs

There is no flat rate and no order value that makes delivery free. Each pair carries its own charge, and the charge rises with the weight of the pair and the distance to your postcode. Every pair ships direct from an Australian supplier warehouse, and delivery is available to Australian addresses only.

These are example charges for one pair to a metro postcode in each city. Your own postcode may differ slightly, so treat them as a guide and check the cart.

Lighter pairs cost less to send. A 2kg pair is about $6.11 to metro Sydney and about $10.18 to Melbourne, and a 3kg pair is about $7.13 and about $12.21. Sydney is the cheapest metro destination in these examples, and Perth and Hobart are the dearest, which reflects the distance from the supplier warehouses.

Regional and remote postcodes cost more

Outside the capital cities the charge goes up. Taking a 10kg pair as the example, regional NSW is about $31.54, regional Victoria about $41.71, regional Queensland about $48.84 and regional WA about $68.16.

• 5kg pair to a regional postcode: about $22.39 in NSW, $28.49 in Victoria, $31.54 in Queensland and $41.71 in WA.
• 20kg pair to a regional postcode: about $45.78 in NSW, $60.03 in Victoria, $78.34 in Queensland and $109.87 in WA.
• Remote postcodes: a few items cannot be sent to remote postcodes at all, and the cart says so when you enter yours.

How the charge adds up for a set

Because delivery is charged per item, a set of three pairs pays three delivery charges. The totals below add the goods to the example metro charges. They are rounded to the dollar, and the cart shows the exact figure.

The delivery share is largest on the heavy pairs and in the western and southern capitals. On a 5kg, 10kg and 15kg set, delivery adds about $40 in Sydney and about $137 in Perth.

Items that include delivery

Four items in the range include delivery at no extra charge to most of Australia: the 6mm Non-Slip TPE Yoga Mat at $60, the Percussion Massage Gun at $48, the Doorway Pull-Up Bar at $34 and the Insulated Water Bottle at $29. Adding one of them to a dumbbell order does not add a delivery charge for that item in most postcodes.

Ways to keep the delivery cost down

• Buy the weights you will use: a 20kg pair costs more to send than a 10kg pair, so skip the heavy pair until you are close to needing it.
• Check the cart before you commit: enter your postcode with the full set in the cart, then remove a pair to see what it changes.
• Compare a lighter set: a 2kg, 5kg and 10kg set to Melbourne is about $48 in delivery, against about $67 for a 5kg, 10kg and 15kg set.
• Use a metro address you have access to: if you live regionally and work in a capital city, a work address may cost less. Only do this if someone can receive a heavy parcel there.

Splitting an order into separate checkouts does not save anything, because each pair is charged on its own either way.

Working out your delivered total before you pay

1. Add the pairs and any other items to the cart.
2. Enter your postcode in the cart.
3. Read the delivery line. It is the sum of the charges for each item to that postcode.
4. If an item cannot be sent to your postcode, the cart tells you before checkout.
5. Pay only once the total suits you. Nothing is charged until you check out.
