Where the dumbbells ship

Every item ships direct from an Australian supplier warehouse. Enter your postcode in the cart and the exact delivery cost shows before you pay. A few items cannot be sent to remote postcodes, and the cart tells you if that applies.

• Charged per item: each pair has its own delivery charge, and the cart adds them up.
• Depends on postcode: metro Sydney is the cheapest for most pairs, Hobart and Perth the dearest of the capitals in the table below.
• Delivery included on four items: the yoga mat, massage gun, pull-up bar and water bottle, to most of Australia.

All figures are about, in AUD. Light pairs cost less to send: a 1kg or 2kg pair is about $6.11 to metro Sydney and about $9.16 to $10.18 to Melbourne or Brisbane.

Regional and remote addresses

Regional areas cost more than the capitals. For a 10kg pair the examples are about $31.54 to regional NSW, about $41.71 to regional Victoria, about $48.84 to regional Queensland and about $68.16 to regional Western Australia.

Remote postcodes cost more again, and a few items cannot be sent to them. The cart checks your postcode and tells you before you pay. More detail is in the regional delivery guide.

How long delivery takes

Dispatch from the supplier warehouse usually takes 1 to 3 business days. Metro delivery usually takes 2 to 7 business days after dispatch. Regional and remote areas take longer. These are estimates, not guaranteed dates.

When you plan around a date, add the two stages together and allow for weekends and public holidays. A metro order is usually with you within two working weeks. Pairs in one order may arrive on different days, because each item ships from a supplier warehouse.

What a set costs delivered

Most people order two or three pairs. Here is the same set priced to different capitals, goods plus example delivery charges. The cart shows the exact figure.

The gap between cities grows with the weight. On a 5kg, 10kg and 15kg set the delivery charge is about $40 to Sydney and about $137 to Perth.

How the pairs arrive

Each pair is two fixed rubber hex dumbbells with chrome handles. There is nothing to assemble, so they are ready to use out of the box.

• Weight of the parcel: roughly double the number on the head, so a 10kg pair is about 20kg.
• Carrying: open the carton at the door and carry one dumbbell at a time.
• Damage: check the items when they arrive, and if anything is damaged, photograph it and email [email protected] with your order number.

Canberra, Hobart, Darwin and everywhere else

Canberra sits between Sydney and Melbourne on most charges: about $12.21 for a 5kg pair and about $17.30 for a 10kg pair. Hobart costs more than any east coast capital, about $42.73 for a 10kg pair and about $81.39 for a 15kg pair, so heavy pairs to Tasmania are worth pricing in the cart first.

Darwin and other postcodes not shown in the table are priced the same way: by postcode and item at checkout. Enter the postcode in the cart to see the figure, and the cart will also say if an item cannot be sent there.

If you are buying for someone in another state, use their postcode, not yours. The charge follows the delivery address.

One exception to note for Tasmania: the water bottle includes delivery to most of Australia, but the cart may show a charge for Tasmanian postcodes. Check the delivery line before you pay.

Keeping delivery costs sensible

Because delivery is charged per item, there is no threshold to chase and no saving from padding an order. The useful decisions are which pairs to buy and whether to add any of the four delivery included items.

• Check the cart before you commit: enter your postcode, then add or remove a pair and watch the delivery line.
• Buy pairs you will use for months: every pair pays its own delivery.
• Add delivery included gear where it fits: a pull-up bar at $34 or a yoga mat at $60 adds nothing to the delivery charge for most addresses.
